At 10:00 Ashely walked out onto the beach. She had a rental surf board under her arm and she was so ready for this. Yesterday, her best friend, Mitchel had offered to teach her how to surf, and now she was so ready. She fixed her pig tails and waded out into the water.
She spotted Mitchel far off on the beach with a surf board. She waved her hands in the air. "MITCHEL!" She yelled, and beckoned to him. "MITCHEL COME ON!" She started to laugh and wave some more.

Mitchel, who had been walking down the beach in a navy wetsuit and white surfboard (With green stripes on the sides), looked up to see Ashley, waving her hands around and laughing. He smiled, running down the beach and into the water, wading out to where she was.
"Okay, first thing first. Sit on your board." He said, pushing his board down and sitting on it, the front half a little out of the water. He then wrapped the wrist strap around his wrist quickly, then looked back over to Ashley.

Ashley, who was now attempting to sit on her board was having a substancial amount of trouble. She watched Mitchel and tried to mimic what he did, but she had no luck. The board slipped out from under her. She went under the water and came up smiling. "I'm having no luck with this whole surfing thing." She said, and attempted to sit on her board again. This time she made it and wrappped the wrist strap around her wrist.

Mitchel tried to hold back laughter as Ashley fell off, but it came out in a small chuckle. When she finally got herself situated, Mitchel nodded, then looked back to the waves. After about ten seconds, he looked back to Ashley.
"Before you actually stand on the board, you need to get the feel of the wave." He said, watching as a fairly small wave approached. "First, lean forward on your board, and let the wave take you." He said, as the wave got closer. Once the wave came, he bent over his board and seemed to kick off the wave, letting it carry him a couple yards, and then he turned back and went next to Ashley. "Now your turn."

Ashley wagged her finger at Mitchel jokingly. "Dont laugh at me." She said, and smiled. Ashley watched a small wave approach and she leaned forward on her board and the wave took her a couple of yards, and she ended up not too far from Mitchel. She rubbed her eyes because she had salt in them. "Ok this is when i begin to wonder what the people who are on the beach are thinking."

"Who cares what they're thinking." Mitchel said back to her quickly. He then looked to her rubbing her eyes. "You'll get used to that, hopefully." He then positioned himself. "Okay. Now the real surfing begins." He watched as a wave came in, "Get your feet close to the board, maybe with your knees up and your feet scrunched in," As he explained it all, he did it himself, "And then, when the wave comes, you JUMP up by pushing up with your hands and brings your feet up." He jumped up on his board, his feet landing gracefully on the board as he surfed for a while, then jumped off and paddled back to Ashley.

"Oh yeah... easy as one two three..." Ashley joked. She followed his instructions carefully, but when it came time for her to jump, instead of landing oh so gracefully like Mitchel, she just flipped off the board and landed with a splash in the water. The board hit her in the head and she started to laugh. "Ok... I knew you were gonna make it look easy." She said, and tried again. This time she managed to get on the board, but only for a nano second. She flipped off again and groaned.

"Don't worry, you're actually not doing too bad." Mitchel said, "It took me hours to get on it for as long as I just did, just concetrate." He said, going through the steps of what she was supposed to do again.

Ashley sat back on her board and looked at the oncoming wave. She thought about it for a second. Be the wave. Be the wave. She thought. That's so Zen. She laughed to herself. Then she followed Mitchel's instructions very carefully. She actually managed to stay on the board for a little over 3 seconds, and then came tumbling off and landed in the water. She surfaced and raised her arms up in the air. "I did it!" She cried, and started to laugh.

Mitchel smiled, then flung his arms up into the air and shouted, "WHOOHOO!!!!!" He then looked back to Ashley. "Good job." He said, still smiling.

Ashley was now running around in the water with her surf board still on her wrist. "I DID IT!" she kept on shouting. Then she ran over to Mitchel and hugged him. "I DID IT!" She laughed and started to calm down.

Mitchel, now laughing hysterically himself, almost fell over when Ashley had hugged him, he got strangely weak in his legs when he laughed really hard. But he caught himself, and then began to calm down as well.

Cheyenne dove into the water. When she came up she saw Mitchel and Ashley Tisdale surfing. "Hey guys." she said swimming over to them.
